Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has called on Ugandans to unite and contribute to building a greater Uganda, emphasising the importance of collective responsibility in national development.
In a post on X, Muhoozi wrote, “Ask not what your country can do for you but what we together can do for the greatness of Uganda.”

His message encourages citizens to focus on their contributions to national progress rather than concentrating only on what they expect from the country. It echoes the famous words of former US President John F. Kennedy, adapted to emphasise unity and shared responsibility.

In another post, Muhoozi shared a biblical passage from Genesis 32:24–26 describing Jacob wrestling with a mysterious man until daybreak. Despite the struggle, Jacob refused to let go without receiving a blessing, declaring, “I will not let you go until you bless me.”

The passage is commonly associated with persistence, determination and the pursuit of blessings despite hardship. Muhoozi did not explain its connection to his earlier message about Uganda.

Together, the two posts highlight themes of national unity, perseverance and the pursuit of a better future.
