Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba has announced that he has forgiven State Minister for Local Government Justine Nameere following a disagreement that attracted public attention.

The development comes after Minister Nameere issued an apology to Gen. Muhoozi over a video controversy that she said was edited and circulated by individuals seeking to create misunderstanding between them.

In her apology, Nameere said she would never attack Gen. Muhoozi, whom she referred to as her brother, and explained that the video in question had been manipulated.

Following the apology, Gen. Muhoozi said he had accepted it and decided to put the matter behind them.

“I have hereby forgiven my dear sister Hon. Justine Nameere. I do not hold grudges against people. I wish all well. The matter is settled,” Gen. Muhoozi said.

He added that officials and supporters of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) had been instructed to stop attacking Nameere from that day onwards.

The disagreement between the two leaders started after a video circulated online, with some people interpreting it as criticism directed at Gen. Muhoozi.

Nameere later clarified that her remarks were not aimed at Gen. Muhoozi and accused people she described as malicious of editing the video and attaching his name to it.
