Amolatar is among districts ordered to refund mismanaged cattle restocking funds.

tndNews, Uganda, has been told that the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) has written to Amolatar district leadership demanding a refund of funds allegedly mismanaged under the sh80 billion cattle restocking programme.

OPM Permanent Secretary Alex Kakooza said ineligible beneficiaries were approved, sidelining vulnerable groups such as widows, persons with disabilities, child-headed households, and former abductees.

Gulu City, Dokolo, Apac, Amuria, Ngora, Lira, Kumi, Oyam, and Kole, are also directed to return the funds.

The government did approve shs5m for each beneficiary under the cattle restocking programme, targeting Lango, Acholi and Teso sub-regions.
