Residents and road users in Apiipe Barapwo, Lira City West Division are raising concern over the increasing number of road crashes along a section of the road that is currently undergoing repair.
The latest crash adds to growing concerns about the safety of motorists, cyclists, pedestrians and other road users using the busy stretch.
According to information available, the road is still under repair, and within this week alone, at least two crashes have reportedly occurred at the affected section.
The vehicle involved in the latest incident bears registration number UAR 976M.
The driver is reportedly on the run, while details surrounding the circumstances of the crash remain unclear.
The repeated crashes have raised questions about the safety measures being put in place while construction and repair works are ongoing.
Residents and road users are calling for increased caution and proper management of traffic around the construction area to prevent further crashes.
They are also urging those responsible for the road works to ensure that adequate warning signs, barriers and other safety measures are put in place to guide motorists and pedestrians through the affected section.
