Amolatar | The Amolatar district production department has purchased two motorcycles valued at shs24 million.
The department said the motorcycles will improve field operations and extension service delivery to local farmers.
On Tuesday, July 21, 2026, during a ceremony presided over by the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the Resident District Commissioner (RDC), the rides were handed over to the personnel.
Francis Ojok, the production officer, explained that the department prioritised the procurement to solve transport challenges.
The motorcycles, he emphasised, will ease mobility for extension workers, allowing them to access remote agricultural communities more effectively.
Ojok issued a stern warning against the misuse of government property, emphasising that the assets must strictly serve their recommended purpose of supporting farmers.
Deputy CAO Geoffrey Vuciri commended the production department for the development.
He called for strict management, urging the assigned officers to maintain the motorcycles in excellent mechanical condition.
Amolatar district vice chairperson, Margaret Olul, tasked the assigned officers to actively teach farmers modern agronomic practices and bridge the service delivery gap.
While witnessing the handover, Deputy RDC Obonyo Magwar challenged other district sectors to emulate the production department.
He noted that equipping field officers with mobility assets is a vital step toward achieving overall district development and improving community welfare.
The new motorcycles bear registration numbers LG005 (0502) and LG005 (0503).
