Police arrest two murder suspects of a woman in Kakumiro

The territorial Police in Kakumiro district together with a flying squad in the Albertine region have arrested two prime suspects in connection with the murder of a 38-year-old woman.

The suspects have been identified as Jordan Kibuka, 25, and Semata, also known as Kidewalime, 23. They are suspected of having murdered one Namulindwa Victoria, 38, a resident of Rwensera B Cell, Kakumiro district.

Speaking to the Albertine regional police PRO, ASP Julius Allan Hakiza, the duo who were armed with heavy sticks viciously attacked Namulindwa at her home on February 27, 2026, at around 10:58 pm.

He said that the attack which left Namulindwa lifeless, also left her three children and a maid seriously injured.

However, the victims of the injuries were rushed to Mubende Hospital where they are still currently receiving medical attention and are expected to recover.

ASP Hakiza said that the preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects had been targeting homes in Kakumiro, using heavy sticks as their weapon of choice, with the primary intention of robbery, not murder.

“We believe that the suspects’ actions were premeditated, and they are likely to have been involved in similar incidents in the area,” he continued.

The officer urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or items, such as sticks, clubs, and other forms of dangerous weapons, to the authorities.

“The safety of our communities is our top priority, and we will continue to work tirelessly to ensure that perpetrators are brought to justice. We will provide further updates as we produce them to the court,” he assured the public.
