I would like to advise Lango cultural leaders to put some responsibilities on our Members of Parliament by force. They can build something very big in the name of Lango.
For example, it can be a market, school, hospital, factory or stadium. We even need our radio station for Lango culture. This radio will be there to teach our people about the culture of Lango…where we originated from, and who led us during migration.
I also want the name of the Lango Cultural Institution or Foundation abolished and it remains only as Lango Culture. This will bring our people together.
Because hearing the name institution or foundation reminds people of a lot of things that have happened in our cultural leadership, among them conflicts and disrespect. Let it remain as Lango Culture.
It is the responsibility of a cultural leader to bring these politicians together and put on the table what Lango as a tribe needs for them to do without calling the name of the party when it comes to Lango things.
But to my surprise, most of our cultural leaders have sides, even “Won Nyaci” himself takes sides. This is not good at all.
It’s the reason why those politicians are fighting each other instead of bringing development to Lango. They learned this fighting from tekwaro wa.
Now, we have 31 MPs in Lango. If they are to come together and for example, contribute 15m per year for the 5 years:
shs15 x 31 = shs465,000,000
shs465m x 5 = shs2,325,000,000 (shs2.3 billion).
Think about it! What can this money do? It’s a lot of money. But since our culture is not stable, it’s full of jealousy, endless fighting for power which has given the opportunity to these politicians to relax because there is no “checks and pressure” from our cultural leaders.
