UCE finals 2025: Updates across schools in Dokolo

Day one of the 2025 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations kicked off successfully across various schools in Dokolo district.

In a survey conducted by tndNews’ correspondent based in Dokolo town, at most of the secondary schools, head teachers confirmed that the exams started well with morning and afternoon papers.

Ejedio Okello, headteacher of Dokolo Progressive SS in Dokolo town council, said a total of 118 candidates wrote their first exams successfully.

In Okwongdul Lake Side SS, the headteacher, Dolly Docus Kuna, confirmed that they have opened their new UNEB siting centre with 17 candidates.

Meanwhile, in Iguli Girls SS, Anna Apili said the exams started successfully on Monday with 57 candidates.

Denis Ogwal, headteacher of Bata SS, said they have a total of 116 candidates. All started their exams on Monday morning.

Lamec Ereco is the acting District Inspector of Schools for the Dokolo district. He told tndNews on Monday that he was yet to get details of how examinations started across the district, and what major challenges came up.

“All the details of registered candidates were with the office of the District Education Officer and the chairperson of head teachers for secondary schools,” he said.

On Monday, UCE finals started with Geography and Biology Paper 1 in the afternoon.
