Police from the Lira City West Division traffic department have started investigating the incident, which occurred on September 11, 2025, along Juba Road at approximately 8:30pm.
According to North Kyoga Regional Police PRO SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, a fuel tanker with registration number KCP 773P/ZF 8452 was travelling from Kamdini towards Lira City.

Meanwhile, both vehicles have been towed to the Lira City West Police parking yard for inspection.
The driver of the fuel tanker is currently at large. Police are appealing for him to report himself to any police facility to aid in the investigation.
