The Office of the President (RDC) Amolatar is preparing to investigate Amolatar SDA Secondary School due to its lack of involvement in patriotism initiatives.
This decision was made on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, during the graduation of an additional 2,441 students who participated in patriotism training.
On June 9, 1,187 students of Alemere Comprehensive Secondary School and Namasale Technical Institute graduated from the same training.
Twelve out of thirteen academic institutions participated in training their students on patriotism.
Obete Joseph, the district coordinator for the patriotism club in Amolatar, while addressing the patriots and district leaders at the graduation ceremony held at Amolatar Boma ground, urged the RDC’s office to investigate why Amolatar SDA Senior Secondary School has barred its students from engaging in patriotism activities.
He emphasized that it is illegal for a school to prevent students from participating in government programs.
Obete noted that Amolatar SDA was expected to conduct training at Amolatar SS, but they withdrew and did not participate without providing an explanation.
In response, RDC Okello Odoki Francis Rwotlonyo, assured that he would follow up on the issue and take appropriate action.
He added that schools were expected to contribute shs260,000, but most did not contribute, even though their students participated in the training.
The RDC also said that he has received reports about how Amolatar SDA Secondary School has consistently avoided many government programs, including school co-curricular activities.
However, when contacted, the chairperson of the board of governors at Amolatar SDA Secondary School, Jimmy Okombe, attributed their lack of participation to insufficient funds.
