Adupa Ongwech Felix is one of the three aspirants duly nominated by the NRM electoral commission office for the Kyoga County Parliamentary seat.

He will first compete with other aspirants for the party flag. Whoever is elected next month will hold the NRM flag in the 2026 general elections.

On his nomination day, June 19, Adupa was accompanied by notable figures such as Counsel Joseph Angole, Arfat Oyuku Odyek, and Tonny Ebine.

As of June 20, the pool for the Kyoga County Parliamentary aspirants for NRM flag included Opul Carlos Saturday, Col. Dr. Francis Ongia, and Lawrence Odongo Jago.

Opul, who was nominated on June 17 at 9:05 am, has expressed a commitment to advocating for the people of Kyoga. His mission, he said, is centered on revitalizing cooperatives and rejuvenating the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Savings and Credit Cooperative Organizations throughout Amolatar district.

Col. Francis Ongia and Lawrence Odongo Jago were both nominated on June 18. Shortly after receiving his nomination, Col. Ongia shared his determination to effectively communicate his vision and leadership capabilities, emphasizing the importance of creating meaningful impacts in the community.

He said he is particularly recognized for his efforts in restoring boreholes, linking job opportunities, and initiating road maintenance projects aimed at improving rural accessibility.

Adupa addressed the press post-nomination, stressing the urgency of transitional leadership that prioritizes empowering the younger generation. His campaign agenda is comprehensive and development-oriented, focusing on several key priorities:

Upgrading road infrastructure by enhancing the accessibility and connectivity of roads across the county.

Elevating healthcare standards. Adupa is promising to advocate for the elevation of Amolatar Health Centre IV to district hospital status to improve healthcare services for constituents.

Improving educational quality by focusing on bolstering the educational framework and resources available to students, supporting youth entrepreneurship by facilitating programs that encourage youth involvement in productive business ventures to foster innovation and self-sufficiency.

Additionally, he is promising to promote poverty alleviation by implementing government programs such as the poverty eradication model, Emyooga, Youth Livelihood Fund, GROW, and the Uganda Women’s Empowerment Programme (UWEP) to stimulate wealth creation and economic growth.

The NRM started the nomination exercise on June 17 and will end on June 30, 2025.
