Prominent businessman Sudhir Ruparelia has lost his only son, Rajiv Ruparelia, to a fatal car crash on May 3, 2025.

The car he was driving was traveling from Kajjansi toward Munyonyo when he lost control after hitting pavements installed at the roundabout section of the flyover.

In a statement, Uganda Police deputy spokeperson for Kampala metropolitan, Luke Owoyesigire, said the tragic single fatal crash occurred in the early hours of Saturday, May 3, 2025, at approximately 01:54 am at the Busabala Flyover traffic lights, located in Makindye-Ssabagabo, Wakiso district.
