Nokrach eyes Kitgum central division seat as Toolit seeks re-election

Kitgum| In the upcoming 2026 local council elections, Geoffrey Toolit, the incumbent LC3 chairperson of Kitgum Municipal Central Division, has officially announced his bid for re-election.

He will be contesting for the same political office alongside Amono Jenifer Opira, former Kitgum district councilor 5 representing people of Pager and Central division and the incumbent Kitgum municipal council speaker Nokrach Reagan.

The trio brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record that positions them as strong contenders in what is expected to be a competitive race.

Their achievements over the past term have garnered public attention, and they remain committed to building on that foundation.

Under Toolit’s leadership, the division has recorded significant progress, particularly in infrastructure development.

Notable accomplishments include the construction of a new block comprising two classrooms at Kitgum Prison Primary School, ongoing development of Lulojo market, and the Municipal headquarters, which is still under construction.

These projects have not only improved public facilities but have also contributed to increased property values and better living standards in the area.

Toolit, Amono, and Nokrach are campaigning not just on their past achievements, but also on a shared vision for a more prosperous future for the community of Kitgum.

Nokrach Regan is coming under the Uganda People Congress (UPC) while Toolit Godfrey and Amono Jenifer Opira is coming under NRM and the have to go for primary election

Locals say their dedication and combined experience make them formidable candidates for the office.
