Judith Alyek, the Kole district woman Member of Parliament, is gaining support from the grassroots ahead of the party primaries and 2026 general elections.
Her recent “landslide victory” as NRM District Women’s League chairperson with 50 out of 55 delegate votes demonstrates strong confidence in her leadership abilities.
Supporters of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) in Kole district who spoke with tndNews promised to vote overwhelmingly for incumbent Judith Alyek in both the party primaries and the 2026 general elections.
They describe her as “a dedicated leader who genuinely cares about her constituents.”
The recent election in Okwerodot sub-county, where she ran unopposed, and at the district level, where she received 94%, demonstrated her strong grassroots support and leadership within the NRM.
Speaking to our reporter on Monday, MP Alyek promised to unite all NRM delegates, from village to district level, without discrimination or division.
She emphasized the importance of unity in strengthening the ruling party.
Alyek also called for continued support for President Yoweri Museveni in the upcoming general elections, citing his leadership in fostering democracy and national security.
She praised the president as a visionary leader who has championed Uganda’s stability and development.
MP Alyek stated that during her time in Parliament, she has delivered numerous projects to the Kole district, including providing supplies to women’s groups, empowering local communities, and lobbying for infrastructure development such as the Apac-Lira tarmac road alongside other Lango sub-region MPs.
She stated that the Kole district is benefiting from several newly drilled boreholes, which provide clean water to residents in both the northern and southern parts of the district.
Hellen Odongo, a resident of Okwerodot sub-county, thanked MP Alyek for ending their reliance on contaminated water sources shared with animals. She urged other leaders to emulate Alyek’s dedication to improving people’s lives.
Akalo town council member James Okello thanked MP Alyek for her service and encouraged her to continue advocating for better roads, healthcare, and education facilities.
He emphasized the need for leaders who can effectively lobby government support for the district’s development.
MP Alyek also highlighted to tndNews the progress in Kole district, attributing it to strong collaboration among local leaders.
She called for continued cooperation between district leaders and MPs to maximize government opportunities for the community.
“NRM must speak with one voice—no more factions,” Alyek said, highlighting maternal health and education projects she has undertaken.
“When mothers lead, communities thrive. I’ll keep delivering for Kole like I do for my own children.”
