Blacks Power beaten at home after Sunday rain paused the game

Buhimba United Saints FC defeated Blacks Power FC 2:1 in a FUFA Big League match held at their playground at UTC Lira on Monday morning.

The match, which was originally scheduled for Sunday, was suspended in the 23rd minute due to heavy rain flooding the playground.

Buhimba’s Monday win extended their lead at the top of the table to 48 points after 25 matches.

The Blacks Power remain in second place, with 42 points from 24 matches.

Edson Agondeze scored in the 42nd minute with a header past three Blacks Power defenders.

In the 67th minute, Martin Opolot scored with a shot that went past Blacks Power FC goalkeeper Emmanuel Odongkara.

Paul Oonyu scored a consolation goal for Blacks Powers on the stroke of full time.

Buhimba United Saints will take Karao Karungi away.

Buhimba United Saints’ John Ongodia, one of the technical personnel, emphasized that the team’s goal is to earn promotion to the Uganda Premier League next season, not just to win the Big League title.

Three clubs will be promoted to the StarTimes Uganda Premier League at the end of the season, while four will be relegated to their respective regional leagues.
