Queen Dorothy Amolo has threatened to halt further NRM-organized elections in Oyam district if her demands are not met.
Speaking to tndNews on Monday, she said NRM party registrar of Oyam district Jackoline Adong acted unlawfully and disqualified her from being voted as the Oyam district NRM chairperson on May 24.
She stated that this was in contrast to Adong’s previous actions, in which she duly nominated her for the position after presenting a payment slip, as required by the NRM electoral commission.
Amolo was duly nominated alongside Bosco Onyik Ogwal, Okello Engola Junior, and Patrick Ogwal Ojok.
On Friday, the former was declared the winner and new NRM chairperson of the Oyam district, despite Engola’s protests and a petition to cancel the election due to irregularities.
Engola’s petition was not addressed, and the elections proceeded as scheduled.

Queen has issued a notice of intention to sue NRM party leaders after being barred from participating in the election despite having “375 votes guaranteed in her favor.”
In her notice to intended defendants Jackoline Adong, Secretary General of NRM Richard Todwong, and National Chairman of the ruling party Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, seven days have been set aside to address Amolo’s five demands.
Amolo told tndNews that she was able to mobilise 375 delegates (voters) in a very short period of time, adding, “That alone makes me the greatest mobiliser of all time.”
If her demands, which include the payment of shs104,470,000 in special damages to compensate for expenses incurred in reliance on the lawful nomination and unlawful disqualification, as well as the immediate disqualification and removal of Jackoline Adong from her position as NRM registrar for Oyam, are not met within 7 days, she will file a lawsuit.
“If they don’t act on the notice, I am going to file a lawsuit. They won’t even hold the primary elections,” Queen vowed.
She added: “You can’t nominate a person, let them spend money and disqualify them at the last minute.”
Queen also demands that fresh elections for the position of NRM district chairperson be held as soon as possible, with her reinstated as a duly nominated and eligible candidate.
Richard Todwong and Jackoline Adong could not be reached for comments on Friday evening regarding the planned suit and demands made by party member Amolo.
On April 15, 2025, NRM Secretary General Todwong unveiled the party’s electoral roadmap for 2025/26 at a press conference in Kampala.
The election began with village elections and has progressed to sub-county levels nationwide as of May 23.
