“Safeguard your children during holidays,” Canon Moses Ogwal tells Lango parents

Amolatar | As the first term holidays for the 2025 academic year begin, Canon Moses Ogwal has sent a message to parents and guardians throughout the Lango sub-region.

Canon Ogwal, the head teacher at Namasale Technical School in Amolatar, is also the clan head of Otek Olima-Kwanga.

Speaking with tndNews, Ogwal emphasized the importance of family in a child’s development and urged parents to keep their children safe as they return home for the holidays.

The Canon specifically emphasized the risks of going to disco dances during this holiday season.

He warned that such activities could have a negative impact on young people’s futures, urging parents to monitor their children’s social interactions and keep them focused on constructive pursuits.

Furthermore, he encouraged students and pupils to take advantage of their short holiday by assisting their parents with household chores.

This gesture not only promotes responsibility, but it also strengthens family bonds and teaches young people the importance of hard work and community support.

Canon Ogwal also announced that Namasale Technical School will participate in an innovation exhibition in Kampala from April 28 to 29, 2025.

He described the exhibition as an exciting opportunity for the school to showcase various innovative projects on which students have worked tirelessly all year.

Among the impressive exhibits will be the production of reusable pads, shoe manufacturing, and advances in solar system research.

The headteacher was also enthusiastic about the event, noting that the President of the Republic of Uganda is scheduled to attend, emphasizing the importance of the innovations being presented.

He called upon the entire community to rally behind the students as they prepare for this prestigious opportunity, which not only serves to enhance the profile of Namasale Technical School but also contributes to the broader goals of sustainable development and empowerment within the region.

“Through cooperation and commitment to positive values, the future of the children can be secured, paving the way for a brighter tomorrow,” he said
