Following borehole repair, Mitacoo market vendors and surrounding households in Minakulu now have access to safe drinking water.
Jane Francis Acilo restored life to the broken borehole last week.
Acilo, an aspirant for Oyam district woman MP in 2026, has prioritized clean water, roads, education, and agriculture.
On Jane Acilo’s behalf, Odongo Ali, chairperson for persons with disabilities in the Oyam district, handed over the repaired boreholes to the community.
Acilo encouraged the communities and Mitacoo vendors to start saving and use the money to repair the borehole if it breaks down.
According to Ali, Acilo used over shs500,000 from her farm’s profits to repair the water source.
Acilo, who has taken the initiative to drill a new borehole in Arwotongo village, Juma parish, Myene sub-county, emphasized the importance of working together to protect our water source.
She urged the Arwotongo community to protect the borehole in order to provide safe, clean water.

Since expressing her interest in the woman MP seat, Acilo has encouraged Oyam residents to work hard for household development.
She encourages them to embrace commercial agriculture and promises to connect farmers to better markets.
