Oyam | Muslim Community in Uganda and beyond are celebrating Eid al-Fitr after a long fasting period.
Initially, it was expected that Eid al-Fitr would be celebrated on Monday, March 31, 2025.
But, after the moon was sighted on March 29, Sunday March 30 was declared and confirmed for celebrations by Uganda Muslim Supreme Council.
In her message to Muslim community across Oyam and Uganda celebrating the end of Ramadan, Jane Frances Acilo extends her warmest wishes for a joyful, peaceful, and blessed Eid al-Fitr.
In a heartfelt gesture to ensure that no family is left behind during this celebration, her team delivered 950 kilograms of rice to Kamdini Main Mosque on Sunday morning.
The Eid support package was received by 19 Imams from various mosques across Oyam South to reach families during this festive period.
“Eid is a time for unity, generosity, and joy. We want every household to feel included in this moment of celebration,” Acilo stated in an announcement on Sunday.
She added, “To all celebrating: Eid Mubarak! May your homes be filled with love, your hearts with peace, and your tables with blessings.”
