Amuca United FC defeats Palmerias FC handily in the Eid tournament

Lira | The Eid Cup 2025 tournaments have begun at Lira Primary School in Lira City. Thirteen teams are taking part in what is clearly an exciting event.

According to Sheikh Balinda Yusuf, the supreme Khadi of the Greater Lango Muslim District, the annual event takes place during Ramadan, the holy month.

The Eid tournament allows young athletes to demonstrate their abilities, promote teamwork, and foster a sense of community.

The event also promotes socialization, sportsmanship, and healthy competition among attendees.

As the tournament progresses, fans can expect thrilling matches, impressive displays of talent, and a celebration of Ramadan’s values of unity, compassion, and generosity, according to Balinda.

Sudais Ish’aq Awio, chairperson of the Eid Cup for Greater Lango Muslim supreme district, assured the teams that the top four winners would receive both cash prizes and goats as prizes.

Breakdown of the prizes:

1st Place: Winner will receive shs500,000, trophy and a goat.

2nd Place: Runner-up will receive shs400,000 and a goat.

3rd Place: Third-place winner will receive shs300k and a goat.

4th Place: Fourth-place winner will receive shs200k and a goat.

Sudais Ish’aq Awio has also confirmed that there will be individual category awards.

The most outstanding player in the tournament will be named the best player.

The player with the most goals will be named top scorer.

The best goalkeeper award honors the goalkeeper who delivered the most impressive performance.

Champion team: Awarded to the tournament’s overall winner.

The Eid tournaments began on March 19 and will run until March 30, with five successful fixtures played on match days one and two.
