Officials from the UPC party will be in the Acholi subregion to mobilize voters for the upcoming general elections.
The party officials will be led by Jimmy Akena, President of the UPC.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, UPC head of media and communications Faizo Muzeyi said the party wishes to inform the general public that UPC President Hon. Jimmy Akena’s countrywide mobilisation tours have reached the Acholi sub-region.
On March 8, 2025, Akena will be in Agago district for grassroots mobilization in preparation for the 2025/2026 general elections.
“We call upon the people of Agago district to massively mobilise and welcome the Party President. We appreciate the warm reception which the people of Kaberamaido and Kalaki Districts showed to the President during his visit in Teso sub region,” Faizo said.
From March 1 to 2, 2025, the UPC held rallies in the Teso districts.
Akena, who also serves as Lira City East MP in the 11th Parliament, has expressed a strong desire for the presidency.
Picking up where he left off last year, he recently held massive rallies in Alebtong and Otuke before traveling to Teso.
