Lira | Deputy Principal of King James School of Nursing and Midwifery, Samuel Odongo, has highlighted the institution’s achievements and commitment to quality health training.
For nearly a decade, the school administration has described the institution as a shining example of nursing education excellence.
Odongo spoke to Reporters on February 25 and emphasized the institution’s unwavering commitment to producing highly skilled and compassionate healthcare professionals.
“For more than 10 years, King James School of Nursing and Midwifery Lira has consistently shone in the field of nursing education,” Odongo stated.

“Our graduates have made significant contributions to the healthcare sector, both locally and internationally, and we take pride in the quality of training we provide.”
Odongo attributed the school’s success to its dedicated faculty, cutting-edge facilities, and curriculum that meets international healthcare standards.
He also highlighted the school’s emphasis on practical training, which ensures that students are well-prepared to handle real-world challenges in nursing and midwifery.
“Our students undergo rigorous training, both in the classroom and in clinical settings. This hands-on approach has been instrumental in shaping competent and confident healthcare professionals,” he added.
The Deputy Principal also mentioned that the school has consistently performed well in national examinations, with many of its graduates achieving top positions.

The excellence, he said, is a testament to the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and its focus on holistic student development.
As the healthcare industry evolves, Odongo reaffirms King James’ commitment to tailoring its programs to meet new demands.
“We are committed to staying at the forefront of nursing and midwifery education. Our goal is to continue producing graduates who are not only skilled but also ethical and compassionate caregivers.”
The King James School of Nursing and Midwifery Lira remains a reputable institution for aspiring nurses and midwives, and its tradition of excellence is expected to continue for many years to come.

Odongo noted that since its establishment in 2015, the school has grown from an initial enrollment of only 60 students to over 800 students now, encompassing both nursing and midwifery programs.
As a result, current performance has greatly improved, reflecting significant changes. This progress can be attributed to the adequacy and excellence of our teaching staff.
The school is situated in Ongica B Cell, Anai Ward, in Lira City West Division.

Under the leadership of Managing Director Dick Odongo, the institution stated that it has made significant educational advancements throughout Uganda’s northern region.
Currently, King James School of Nursing and Midwifery is experiencing remarkable success, with strong performance in both the nursing program and King James Secondary School.
