Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences, located in Lira City West Division, signed a joint venture agreement with a company based in Germany late last year.
This agreement is intended to provide job opportunities for graduates who want to work in Germany.
On December 21, 2024, Rainer Jungo, Executive Director of Meine Zukunft Limited, signed the agreement with Jerusalem’s management. Different leaders were present to witness this.
That day, Jungo announced plans to start exporting skilled health workers in October 2025.
In addition to highlighting the wealth of employment options in Germany for medical professionals, he guaranteed that all employees would receive equitable treatment free from discrimination as long as they signed contracts.
He added that instructors would be assigned in a timely manner before the export process began.
Meanwhile, Peter Okodo, the Executive Director of the Jerusalem Institute of Health Sciences, praised Lira district woman MP Linda Agnes Auma for this significant development.
He stated that Auma chose his institution over others to provide job opportunities throughout Lango.
Okodo outlined the institution’s challenges, including insufficient funding for modern equipment and high training costs for nurses and midwives.

Lira City Council Mayor Sam Atul thanked Jerusalem’s management for embracing this developmental initiative, which will allow “local children” to learn and work in Germany.
He stated that the Lira City leaders are enthusiastic about this new initiative, noting that the Lango sub-region was chosen from across the country for this significant opportunity.
Atul also extended “thanks” to MP Auma for bringing this opportunity.
