Lira | The body of the former Soroti University lecturer and Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeon at Lira Regional Referral Hospital was discovered near the roadside on January 17 in Otuboi, Kalaki district.
The killer(s) of Dr. Olila Wilfred are unknown, but police in the East Kyoga Region have said their investigations have been stepped up.
His death was immediately condemned by the medical association (UMA) and many individuals.
On Wednesday, tndNews learned that his burial will be held on January 25 in Agweng sub-county, Lira district.
The clan leader of Okiiraki-okwerocobo, where the deceased was from, Shaban Alunga, has appealed for assistance in ensuring Lango son is buried with dignity.
He said the clan has yet to figure out why Dr. Olila was brutally murdered.
The deceased’s body is still at Lira Regional Referral Hospital ahead of January 25.
His murder case was opened at Kalaki CPS via CRB 023/2025 while investigations are ongoing.
