Democratic Alliance officials meet FDC leaders to discuss reform proposals

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has welcomed the Democratic Alliance’s (DA) electoral, constitutional, and transitional reform proposals.

The FDC has pledged to collaborate with the DA, a pressure group, to ensure that these reforms are implemented.

Following a two-hour closed-door meeting between DA officials and FDC leaders, FDC party president Eng. Patrick Amuriat Oboi and Mathias Mpuuga spoke to the media.

Oboi highlighted the significance of these proposals. He stated that the reforms were long overdue and critical to the country’s future.

Eng. Amuriat went on to say that the proposals would be presented to the party’s working committee for discussion beginning tomorrow, followed by a review by the National Executive Committee (NEC).

The Democratic Alliance’s national coordinator, Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba, thanked the FDC leadership for their warm reception.

The former Leader of the Opposition (LoP) emphasized the importance of accelerating electoral reforms as the country prepares for the 2026 general elections.

The meeting also focused on mobilizing political actors, including political parties, cultural institutions, and religious organizations, to collaborate on encouraging reforms and creating a conducive environment for the 2026 elections.
