The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Amolatar Okello Odoki, Francis Rwotlonyo, has issued a strong warning to PDM program beneficiaries.
Rwotlonyo believes that financial mismanagement during the Christmas season may be widespread.
He stated that the financial assistance is intended to help people get out of poverty, not to be used for festive activities.
The RDC urged recipients, particularly those who had recently received funds, to follow the PDM’s stated purpose.
According to him, the district administration plans to conduct home visits to evaluate the funds’ impact on the beneficiaries’ lives.
The President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has been visiting various regions to assess the impact of PDM on communities.
His visits to Lango is assumed to be in early January, 2025.
While festivities are known for their pomp and entertainment, the RDC also warns PDM beneficiaries not to spend their money on alcohol, sex, or polygamous marriages.
Amolatar district is one of the Lango sub-region’s districts that has benefited from PDM, with thousands of beneficiaries.
