Gangs arrested for attempting to rob a financially stable family

Kampala |Three criminals were arrested by Kampala Metropolitan Police after attempting to rob a home.

National police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke stated that on October 4, 2024, their intelligence unit from Kajansi police received information about a group of youths armed with machetes.

He stated that the group planned to attack Lutaaya Emma’s home.

According to Rusoke, the Uganda Police team quickly mobilized and tracked down these suspects. The gangs were riding on a red motorcycle with the registration number UGG 158A.

“They were observed carrying machetes and knives while following Mr. Lutaaya Emma and his wife.

“The group attempted to climb the wall of Mr. Lutaaya’s residence but were deterred by guard dogs,” the police spokesperson continued.

On October 7, 2024, the same group attempted to break into Mr. Lutaaya’s home again.

“And on October 11, 2024, our teams took decisive action by arresting three suspects: Mubiru Steven, Kayanja Frank, and Mutebi Philip.

“The motorcycle used in their operation was also seized as evidence.”

According to Kituuma, the suspects have since confessed to their planned attacks on Mr. Lutaaya’s home, claiming that Mubiru Steven gave them information about the family’s finances.
