Dokolo |Recent tours of NRM Secretariat and grassroots leaders to selected districts in the Lango sub-region appear to have revealed instances of graft in the Parish Development Model (PDM) in Dokolo.
Some SACCO leaders have been arrested, and others are expected to be held soon.
Dokolo RDC Babra Akech told tndNews on Monday morning that Adeknino PDM SACCO Limited engaged in separate graft practices.
This SACCO is situated in Adeknino Parish, Adeknino sub-county, Dokolo South.
RDC Akech stated that Ayang Tom, the chairperson of the SACCO, was arrested on an order from Dr. Tanga Odoi, the chairperson of the NRM Electoral Commission, during their engagement with the local community.
His arrest came after numerous complaints from group members about Ayang’s handling of funds. He allegedly collected money from members ranging from shs50,000 to shs100,000.

According to Akech, Ogung Charles, a resident of Alik village, received only shs480,000 of the recommended shs1 million.
Another beneficiary, Obel George of Bar Okuto village, informed the RDC that despite paying shs80,000 to Ayang, he did not receive any funds.
Margaret Ekneci of Acan Pii village claimed to have paid shs90,000 but received nothing in return.
Following a consultative meeting with security personnel and group members to address these allegations, Ayang was detained by police and questioned.
However, he was later released on Police bond.
RDC Akech emphasized that no one would be spared in this graft, saying, “I am committed to protecting the vulnerable.”

The Dokolo district has over 71 parishes, and the RDC has assured the public that disciplinary action will be taken against the involved group and its leaders.
She was disappointed to learn that many of the beneficiaries of the second phase of PDM in Dokolo are Lira City business owners.
