Brig Gen Kabango to junior officers: ‘Ideological training is key’

Nakaseke | Brig Gen Michael Kabango, Chief of Staff for the Land Force, presided over the junior officers’ pass-out ceremony on August 2.

The officers had completed the Post-Cadet Ideological Course Intake 8/24 at the Oliver Reginald Tambo Leadership School and Pan African Centre of Excellence (ORTLS-PACEX) in Nakaseke district.

Kabango emphasised the importance of ideological training in developing individual discipline as well as understanding the country’s history and future in his speech.

Kabango, the former 5 Division army commander in Acolpii, Pader, urged the officers to put their knowledge and skills learnt during the course to use in their future deployments.

He also warned them against engaging in corrupt activities.

Brig Gen Bonny Wolimbwa, Commandant of the Basic Military Training School in Kaweweta, encouraged the officers to take an active role in their duties.

Col Justus Rukundo, Commandant of ORTLS-PACEX, praised the officers for their outstanding discipline and reminded them that they must prioritise their health in order to achieve success.

Before passing out the officers, the Chief of Staff – Land Force inspected the school’s ongoing infrastructure development projects.
