Man with no identity, hacked to death

Serere | Police at Serere Central Police Station are investigating the murder of an unidentified male adult, aged around 30.

The deceased was hacked to death in a district where death rates have recently increased.

The incident took place on August 17, 2024, at an unknown time in Abulu village, Olupe parish, Kyere sub-county, Serere district.

The case was reported by Otango Joseph, 52, the LC1 chairperson of Abulu village.

Following the report, the police filed a case under CRB 413/2024 at Serere CPS.

The victim was discovered with severe head injuries and his body discarded in a garden. A red motorbike with registration number UGD 863M was discovered at the scene, but it had been burned.

The incident occurred in an isolated area with no nearby residences. Suspicion is that the murder occurred during the early morning rains.

The deceased wore yellow trousers and a dull brown jumper with black stripes. No identification was discovered on him.

The body was taken to Serere Health Centre IV for a postmortem examination, while the burned motorbike was transported to Serere CPS.

ASP Obukulem Edison, the PRO of East Kyoga, stated earlier this week that no arrests had been made, but that updates would be provided as the investigation progressed.
