Pro-Aceng supporters hold solidarity procession in Lira City

Procession

Lira | A group of women and men, the majority of whom are NRM cadres, marched peacefully on Monday.

The cadres marched through Lira City’s Obote Avenue (main street), singing, chanting, and celebrating all that Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero has accomplished.

Dr. Aceng, who is also the Minister of Health, is said to have worked tirelessly to improve the health sector beyond Lira City. She has done the same across the Lango sub-region, supporters added.

Participants in the Monday peaceful procession, holding placards with visible smiles, stated that it was necessary to show their love for the Minister, who is also their MP.

Eunice Anyii is a resident of Omito Ward, Lira City West Division. She took part in the procession and stated, “It was the only way to say ‘thank you’ to our daughter.”

Anyii added that because Dr. Aceng is the Health Minister, there has been a lot of development in various health units.

These health units she said have disciplined and respectful staff who are passionate about their jobs.

Sam Ngura, an NRM cadre from Kwania district, rallied the Lango community in support of Aceng. He stated that it is always better to support and encourage our kind-hearted leaders like Aceng at all levels rather than abusing them.

Tonny Ocen is one of the NRM mobilisers in Lira City. He said that as party leaders, they will not abandon Aceng. He described her as “supportive of the electorate and government.”

He thanked Minister Aceng for his efforts to secure a Type C ambulance for Lango. The ambulance was commissioned during the first day of Lango Regional Health Assembly.

The cadres have vowed to give both Dr. Aceng and President Museveni another political mandates in 2026.

In her opening remarks at the Assembly in Lira City, Dr. Aceng promised more development this fiscal year.

She mentioned the renovation and expansion of Apac General Hospital, the only district hospital in Lango.

Local government leaders in Lango praised Dr. Aceng on that day and throughout the Assembly  for her efforts to improve health infrastructures in the sub-region.
