Apac | Lango Cultural Foundation (LCF) has elected Laury Lawrence Ocen (PhD) as its new speaker.
The Okaro-owok wibyeacel clan leader will be deputised by Dickens Wacio, the Adyegi clan leader.
The two were elected during the ongoing Council of Owitong sitting on Wednesday in Teboke, Apac district.
Laury Ocen was absent. Denis Arao of tndNews reports that his deputy was sworn in and later took charge of the special council meeting.
By press time, the speaker elect could not be found for a comment.
Won Nyaci Yosam Odur Ebii is present and will witness the swearing in of the team he appointed to manage the election of his successor on November 1, 2024.

The EC team was approved by the Council of Owitong last week.
Currently, Owitong are divided into two: those loyal to the former Uganda Road Fund Executive Director Eng. Moses Michael Odongo Okune and Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii.
