Lira I Located less than 5 kilometres from the heart of Lira City – along Lira-Kamdini highway is Lira top Tourism and Hotel Management Institute, 291.
In 2014, the 291 Institute of Tourism and Management was founded with the goal of producing a highly disciplined, competent, and skilled workforce to support the hospitality industry.
The Odokomit-based institute is responsible for organising and conducting courses in tourism, hotel management, and catering, as well as providing for knowledge advancement, transmission, and preservation.
It envisions to be the leading centre for excellence in hands on training in the world of Tourism and Hospitality industry
The Institute has a clear and organized management system, led by Directors, and is registered with Directorate of Industrial Training with Examination Centre Number UVQF/311 under the Uganda Vocational Qualification Framework.
In terms of leadership and management, the institute employs a team of qualified teaching and non-teaching staff with extensive experience in education and related fields.

Admission requirements for a study programme
- PLE pass slip, O’ or A’ Certificate/Testimonial with all subjects sat
- Original Birth Certificate
- 5 passport size photographs
- ID of former School
