Biija, 22, dies shortly after UPDF’s mandatory 4km run

Tororo | Biija Abdallah, 22, from Butaleja district has died.

He had gone to Tororo for interviews in an attempt to join Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) as national recruitment exercise continues.

Captain Musinguzi George William, the Public Information Officer of the recruitment exercise for Bukeddi and Busoga regions, said while on a 4km run, Biija collapsed.

He was rushed to Tororo Main Hospital where he died shortly on arrival. In other regions where the exercise has ended, it was marred by many candidates presenting fake academic papers,

The recruitment team handed them to District Intelligence Security Officers (DISO) for further investigation. For example, in Apac and Kwania districts, five had fake UCE academic papers.
