Amolatar | Residents of Apalepe cell, Amolatar town council, have rejected and chased away a prominent witch.
Apalepe was where the witch had set up her operations. However, she was chased on Wednesday, June 5.
Known as “Dr. Congo Zale” or “Mama Bahati,” she claims to be a native of Tanzania where she was also chased to Uganda.
Sergeant Obwang Augustine, Uganda Police’s Community Liaison Officer in Amolatar, stated that they cannot turn a blind eye to witchcraft in society.
CLO Obwang cautioned landlords against welcoming visitors whose intentions they do not understand.
Following thorough investigations, various charms such as kifaro and animal horns were discovered.

The RDC of Amolatar, Okello Odoki Rwotlonyo, ordered witch Bahati to leave the area immediately.
Rev. Captain Julius Otuke stated that witchcraft practitioners should not settle near churches or schools.
The Reverend stated that they were not ready to associate, and that action would be taken against church member Otema Jimmy, who allowed his house to be rented.
Martin Obong is the area councillor for Apalepe ward to Amolatar town council. In the town council of Amolatar, he declared, they will not permit any witch or warlock to settle.
Ajuk Richard, LC1 chairperson of Apalepe ward, stated that he was not even informed by the landlord about Mama Bahati’s arrival until yesterday, when some residents approached him.
Morish Ojok, an area youth leader, condemned the act, stating, “As Apalepe community, we will not tolerate baloney by any devil worshipper.”
According to the report, the owner of the home who allowed the witch to rent one of his houses fled when he noticed police approaching his home.
His wife, Jacqueline Otema, told the police that her husband never told her about the witch.
On Tuesday, she stated that she demanded her husband tell her the truth. “He promised to chase me away.
By Wednesday evening, Mama Bahati had collected all of her belongings and was on her way to Dokolo.
