Kole Muslims point out segregation in government programmes

Kole | Last Friday, Northern Youth Member of Parliament Boniface Okot was praised for donating a brand new bicycle to the Kole main mosque.

The ride will help Allah’s cause in Kole. The bicycle was donated in response to a request made on Eid al-Adha, June 16, 2024.

That day, Muslims in Kole cited a number of challenges they face in terms of government service delivery. Imam Musfara Okello claims that they are significantly less wealthy than Christians.

Musfara expressed sadness that no Muslim in Kole has benefited from government programmes. “Now, as a leader, I would like to condemn this segregation.”

“I now encourage our political leaders to address this issue, and I would like to thank Northern Youth MP Boniface Okot.”

Okot is currently mobilising the people of Kole South in preparation for 2026. Muslims in the constituency have baptised him as a devoted leader who supports their activities.

While speaking with them, Okot apologised to Muslims who had missed government programmes such as the Parish Development Model and Youth Livelihood Funds, among others.

“I am so disappointed to hear that no Kole Muslims received any PDM funds. I want to assure you that I will follow up and provide clear information on the PDM matter.”

“On behalf of the NRM government, I apologise to the Kole Muslim community. Let us remain calm. I know shortly the government will come out with a solution to this matter.”

According to MP Okot, statistics show that the future of the country is in the hands of young people, who account for 75% of the population.

“I want to emphasise and encourage the community to vote for a leader who is concerned about the people who voted for him.”
