Lira – 23, June 2021: Located near Lira Town View Hotel, Lira Medical Diagnostic and Treatment center says it is currently offering free family planning services to people across Lango sub-region.
“In a bid to contribute towards prevention of unintended pregnancy in Lango sub region, Lira Medical Diagnostic and Treatment Center in collaboration with Marie Stopes Uganda is currently offering free family planning services,” Dr Nedi Tom, the health facility directors tells TND News.
He says this include “implants and IUD insertion” including removal for those who desire to discontinue the method.
“This service starts on 1st June to 31st July 2021 from 9:00 am to 5:00pm daily,” he adds.
Asked why free service, he responded: “The reason we are offering free family planning services is because we want to contribute towards prevention of teenage/unintended pregnancies in Lango sub region since Covid-19 has made many of our teenagers redundant and therefore risk unintended pregnancies.”
