Amolatar | The people of Bangala parish in Amolatar have put a lot of pressure on the UPDF officer to give Salva Ministry Limited the land title so that schools construction can go forward.
The community is now demanding that Col. Francis Ongia give ownership of the land he had sold to Salva Ministry Limited at a meeting organised by the area LC2 of Bangala parish on May 20, 2024 in Alwala village, Bangala parish, Namasale sub-county.
Salva, tndNews understands, purchased eight (8) hectares of land from Col. Ongia with the primary goal of building community schools from nursery to technical including a hospital.
The establishments would educate orphans and provide various forms of assistance to widows in Bangala parish and Amolatar in general.
Obonyo Richard, LC2 chairperson, stated that in 2022, they received information from a woman he only identified as Grace, who assured them that through Bishop Ibrahim Okello, they could get help from “the whites” to help orphans and widows.
Obonyo added that, through Bishop, a foreigner named Peter visited the community and purchased eight hectors of land from Col. Oniga.
He questioned why, despite the fact that they had purchased and he had been paid in full, Col. Ongia had refused to transfer the land title to Salva Ministry Limited.
Meanwhile, Bishop Tom Ibrahim Okello stated that Salva Ministry Limited would like the land title transferred as soon as possible so that construction can resume.
He went on to say that the Salva Ministry, which includes him (the Bishop), and two other foreigners, are institutions’ sole directors.
As per Tom, Peter has refused to send any financial support for the construction unless the land transfer is completed.
The Bishop on Monday asked Col. Ongia, the Amolatar Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) coordinator, to transfer the land title to them.

The man of God wondered what happened to another “man of God – pastor” Col. Ongia, who sold them his land but could not transfer the title.
Col. Ongia speaks
He has requested that the community give him three days to consult with his lawyer before withdrawing the trespass case he filed against Salva Ministry Limited.
The Col. also stated that his lawyer will help him determine whether he can transfer land to Salva in three days.
Importantly, Col. Ongia has confirmed selling eight hectares of land to Salva Ministry for shs40 million.
The OC of Amolatar Central Police Station, SSP Messette Kenneth, has appealed to Col. Ongia to withdraw the case he filed in court and resolve the issue with the community amicably.
He also urged the people of Amolatar to embrace development and leave politics out of it.
Rembo Ongu, Namsale’s LC3 chairperson, stated that anyone who attempts to divert God’s project will face consequences.
Widows speak
Akello Amina, a widow, pleaded with Col. Ongia to transfer the land so that their children could benefit from the existing education system.
Another widow, Mondestor Obote, said she and the other 48 orphans want construction to continue.
Salva Ministry Limited has launched a project in Alwala village, Burakwana parish, Namasale sub-county, to construct nursery, primary, secondary, and technical schools, as well as a hospital.
The construction is currently halfway completed after Col. Ongia failed to transfer land title to the purchasers, Bishop Tom Ibrahim Okello and two other Australians.
