Suspected killers of Apac man, 44, identified

Lira | Police in Apac district have identified the suspected killers of Alemo Thomas, 44.

The deceased until his killing was a resident of Oyeyi cell, Aminteng ward Agulu Division in Apac municipality.

His death was reported to Police by Acato Francis, 66, on January 19 at 3 pm. The key suspects on the run are A1. Alemo Daniel, A2. Obia Ronald, A3. Odongo Vicent and A4. Ogwang Peter.

Per SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, PRO North Kyoga Region, it’s alleged that on January 19, 2024, in the morning, the suspects accused Alemo (deceased now) of stealing a bull and he was beaten to death.

“A case of murder by a mob has been registered at Apac Police Station under CRB:070/2024,” he revealed.

“No arrest has been made yet, suspects still at large. This is a very unfortunate incident. We strongly condemn the actions of these suspects, we continue appealing to members of the public to always respect the rule of law.

“ Article 22 of the Constitution of Uganda talks about protection of the right to life: No one has any right to remove the life of another. We therefore advise the community members to support Police with investigations of any person who is alleged to have committed an offence.”
