News-in-Brief, Lira | Police in Lira City East Division are holding a lady identified as Akumu Conni, 36.
Her arrest followed a complaint registered by Okello George, a businessman at Amach trading centre.
She was suspected to be having fake notes worth shs1,690,000.
It’s alleged that on December 22, Akumu moved into about four shops at the Amach trading centre, buying shop items with her fake notes.
“She was arrested and recovered with her fake money of shs 20,000 notes worth shs1,690,000,” SP Jimmy Okema, North Kyoga Region PRO, confirmed.

Currently, Okema said she’s being detained at Lira City East Division – Amach as investigations go on.
“We once again want to remind members of the public to continue being vigilant and report quickly to the Police for arrest, investigation and prosecution.”
