Apac | The security team in Apac district have started investigating a case of suspected murder by hanging.

Achilla Emmanuel, 12, was a pupil of Ibuje Primary School in Apac district.

According to SP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the North Kyoga Region Police spokesperson, the deceased was a resident of Kanalobai village, Kakakwa parish, Mari sub-county in Kotido district.

While addressing the media in Lira City last week, Okema said the deceased was brought by his uncle, Olila Samuel.

Olila works as the herdsman to Odongo James.

The Police report indicates that on November 21, 2023, one bull disappeared and Odongo was alleging that Olila sold his bull.

The employer kept on threatening his worker and registered a case of theft against Olila who was later arrested and detained at Apac CPS.

Later, the Police report further revealed that he turned to the boy, Achilla, asking him to reveal where his uncle sold the bull.

The boy took off on Monday to the neighbourhood and didn’t come back. On Wednesday, he was discovered dead by hanging.

Okema reveals that a report was registered at the Police, and the scene of the crime was visited, and documented.

The deceased’s body was conveyed to Apac Hospital’s mortuary pending postmortem.

As the investigation continues, Odongo James, who is a prime suspect, is at large.
