Kampala, June 7, 2023: President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has tested positive for Covid-19, Dr Diana Atwine, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health has confirmed.
Dr Atwine confirmed Museveni’s health status on Wednesday, June 7 at 10 pm.
“Today June 7, 2023 H.E The President tested positive for Covid-19. This was after developing mild flue-like symptoms. However he is in robust health and continues to perform his duties normally while adhering to SOPs.”
While delivering the State of Nation Address to Parliament on Wednesday, President Museveni, 78, did revealed he had tested positive for Covid-19. He revealed that first and second tests were although negative.
