A case of assault, malicious damage, and criminal trespass was registered at Amolatar CPS against the suspects.

Amolatar – June 27, 2022: Police in Amolatar town have arrested three men for criminal trespass, malicious damage, and assault. Amolatar Central Police Station (CPS) is currently their new address as investigations continue.
The suspects – many have described as “hooligans” have been identified as Otum Pala, Okullu Moses, and Ocen Innocent.
According to ASP Jimmy Patrick Okema, the Aswa North Regional Police spokesperson, the territorial police at Amolatar CPS are keeping the aforementioned persons for allegedly gaining forceful access to Hot FM station, attacking, and beating up staff.
“Police received the report from one of the attacked journalists identified as Odur Alphonse Fege Hege a resident of Amolatar B Cell, Inomo ward Amolatar Town Council, in Amolatar District,” Okema’s statement reads in part.
According to him [Okema], Odur claims that he was attacked and beaten together with his colleagues Okello Baker and Ladye Babra Ojok, on 27th June 2022 at around 0815hours at Hot F.M in Amolatar Town.
A case of assault, malicious damage, and criminal trespass was registered at Amolatar CPS and later a team led by the DPC visited the scene, examined it, and put on recorded statements from eyewitnesses.
The North Kyoga PRO added that the team also recovered exhibits from the scene. The trio recorded statements.
The motive of the attackers, he said is not yet established but investigations are ongoing.

An insider told this publication Monday evening that the suspects were mobilized by two politicians from the same district. He could not tell us the motives for such mobilization and the subsequent attack on the radio station and its staff.
This is the second notable incident in the history of Lango for a group of residents to attack a radio station and its staff. The first attack was on a Voice of Lango journalist – a few years ago. That particular one, some claimed at that time, was also politically approved.
