Lira-Kamdini road has raised hot debates in recent days with the natives choosing peaceful demonstration as the only option.
Oyam – January 22, 2022: The Lango Association of North America (LAONA) has conveyed its message of solidarity with the people of Lango following days of heated debates on the lethal Lira-Kamdini road.
In a letter dated January 21, 2022, Florence Ocen, LAONA’s Chair said the association stands with the people of Lango in “full solidarity to express their long term grievances to the government of Uganda through a peaceful demonstration tomorrow”.
She added that “the issues that afflict the Lango sub-region are too many to list”, adding that, “The Lira-Kamdini road is just one of the most pressing of them all.”

“The people of Lango have been lied to by the government of Uganda for much too long to continue to remain silent about the issues.”
