Kamuli: Watongola’s replacement to be nominated Tuesday

Baroda Kayanga has promised to “fulfil all the pledges and projects” started by her late mother.

Jinja—23 November 2020: Baroda Kayanga (Watongola), daughter to Hajji Badru Watongola, will be officially nominated to contest for the Kamuli Municipality MP race in the next year’s elections.

She will replace her mother Hajjat Rehema Watongola, who died almost two weeks ago from Mulago National Hospital, Kampala.

Kayanga, 27, says she has already paid for the nomination, which will be done tomorrow Wednesday at the electoral commission (EC) offices – Kamuli.

In 2018, Kayanga graduated from Kyambogo University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Rehabilitation.

She has promised to “fulfil all the pledges and projects” started by her late mother—who was holding the NRM flag for re-election as Kamuli Municipality MP.

Having been part of the inner circle of the mother’s campaign task-force, Kayanga believes victory is on her side.

She attributes her victory to the voters, adding that the votes will be a tribute to her late mother as well as continuity in leadership.
