128 new Covid-19 cases, 2 deaths: 2 health workers from Lira tests positive

There are now 1,608 total Covid-19 recoveries in Uganda and 41 deaths.

National—6, September 2020: Results from Covid-19 tests done on 05 September 2020 confirmed 128 new cases. The cumulative total confirmed cases of Ugandans are now 3,667.

A statement by the Ministry of Health issued on Sunday 6, September also confirmed two (2) Covid-19 deaths registered from Kampala and Jinja districts.

This brings the total Covid-19 deaths to 41.

Of the confirmed cases, 120 were contacts and alerts: 95 from Kampala, 13 from Wakiso, 3 from Luweero, 2 from Nwoya, 1 from Amuru, 1 from Jinja, 1 from Kanungu, 1 from Manafwa, 1 from Maracha, 1 from Soroti and 1 from Zombo districts.

The Ministry also confirmed that seven health workers: 2 from Kampala, 2 from Lira, 2 from Wakiso and 1 from Mityana districts tested positive for coronavirus.

One Uganda truck driver tested positive at Elegu border.

Also, one Rwandese, a truck driver tested positive for Covid-19 at Mirama Hills and his entry into the country was not permitted

There are now 1,608 total Covid-19 recoveries in Uganda.
