
Zombo—29, July 2020: The Northern Uganda State Minister, also the Zombo District Woman MP, Hon. Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny continues to offer her massive support to the people of West Nile sub-region.
The supports, comprising various items, are aimed at improving the livelihoods of different persons as the country battles with coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has left hundreds of thousands of vulnerable Ugandans more hopeless and they can only recover through individuals and government’s supports.
Early this week, Minister Kwiyucwiny met her people of Zombo and offered them hopes. The Minister had this to say:
“I have supported my community by providing hoes to 5 football clubs per sub-county, totalling to 65 clubs catering for a total of 1,950 youth.”

She added: “2,400 veterans, 950 religious leaders, 500 women leaders, 200 health workers, 460 civic leaders, and 150 youth leaders across all sub-counties were also supported.”
The Woman MP further said, “in addition, 2 tractors were provided to boost mechanisation of agriculture, 2 for Alur Kingdom, 1 for Tea Cooperatives and 1 for Okoro coffee union.”

“Our effort is to support the community into better and increased production in line with the government mission to draw the focus from subsistence farming through to commercial agriculture.”
She urged everybody in the sub-region, especially Zombo district to “come together, grow what can bring us income such as Coffee, bananas, Irish potatoes, tea, to mention but a few”.
“These have the ability to increase the employment number and food security within our region.”
“I thank H.E the President for his support, Ubimu Philip Rauni III of Alur kingdom, District Local Government leaders and all stakeholders for promoting agriculture and making Zombo the food basket of the region,” she added.
