NRM party gives shs380m to COVID-19 national taskforce


The ruling party – National Resistance Movement [NRM] has followed other donors by donating money to the COVID-19 national taskforce.

A donation by cheque, was handed over to the Prime Minister of Uganda, Rt Hon Dr Ruhakana Rugunda on Sunday.

The NRM national vice chairman, Alhajji Moses Kigongo who was accompanied by Secretary General, Justine Kasule Lumunba, represented President Museveni Yoweri. Mr Museveni is the party’s national chairman.

“We today received, with thanks, a generous contribution of shs380 million to the national fund to fight #COVID-19 from Party & our Chairman HE @KagutaMuseveni. The cheque was presented by NRM National Vice Chairman Alhajji Moses Kigongo & SG @JustineLumumba,” Prime Minister Tweeted on Sunday.

Today at 8pm, President Museveni will address the country, giving an update on the fight against coronavirus.

The president, using his Twitter handle on Sunday afternoon, urged Ugandans to continue observing guidelines given by the government and health officials.
