Zombo – On Saturday – thousands of enthusiastic Alur people thronged Atiak Primary school in Atiak sub-county, Ora County in Zombo district to witness and celebrate the 9th coronation anniversary of their joyous cultural leader.
The lively event, characterised by traditional Alur dance – among others was also attended by the Paramount Chief of Acholi – Rwot Onen Acana – among other traditional leaders.
His Highness Philip Olaker Rauni III in his speech, said women must be supported, respected and given chance to lead – citing the mother of Gipir and Labongo.
The Alur King, who was convinced by the work of the State Minister for Northern Uganda, Honourable Grace Freedom Kwiyucwiny as the chairperson organising committee of this year’s event, publicly announced to the multitude that the Minister will take the same role in 2020.
“Culture and Health” was this year’s theme.
