Speaker Kadaga suffering from fatigue-related illness

Uganda Parliament Speaker, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga is battling for her life following admission to health facility on Thursday.

Kadaga, now admitted at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala and put in Intensive Care Unit, according to various reports, is closely being monitored by doctors.

Her office issued a press statement on Friday.

In a press statement released, the Speaker, Kadaga who is also the Kamuli district Woman MP, had a hectic working tour in Morocco and United States.

“The Speaker of Parliament is currently being managed by doctors at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala, over fatigue-related illness. She was admitted yesterday soon after her return from a hectic working tour in Morocco and the United States of America,” Sam Obbo, the press secretary writes.

“While abroad, she steadfastly advocated for better policies for women and children in Uganda and across the globe,” the statement further reads.

Mr. Obbo added: “Due to hectic work schedule, fatigue and jetlag she has had to be admitted in hospital.”
